  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,059 - $129,288 + super

 

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Threatened Species Officer to join our Biodiversity Conservation and Science Group.

The Senior Threatened Species Officer is responsible for the delivery of regional threatened species programs, including key projects for the Lowland Grassy Woodland threatened ecological community and Monaro Grassland Earless Dragon, to achieve corporate objectives in conservation and biodiversity management, community engagement, customer service, compliance and licensing.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have significant skills and experience in field-based ecology and biodiversity conservation, ideally in delivering threatened species recovery actions and projects.
  • Develop and deliver threatened species projects that are consistent with government strategies and priorities.
  • Communicate your project outcomes via quality data management and by sharing your project stories with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Hold a degree in Science or in a relevant natural resource discipline.
  • Have a driver’s license and experience with driving 4wd vehicles – training desirable, but not essential.
