Job Description
Job Summary
The Systems and Security Administrator provides administrative and support functions to Campus Technology. The primary function of this position is enterprise infrastructure administration and services as tier two escalation support for the Help Desk team.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

Oversee PBX management (Telephone System).
-
Setup and configure station extensions and voice mail boxes.

Manage network changes through Boldyn (Apogee) ticketing system.

Educate users of equipment capabilities and processes.
-
Provide full software lifecycle support including research, deployment, maintenance and support of end user systems.

Assist in installation of telephone, video and other cables as required.
-
Assist Help Desk technicians with incidents and assume ownership of requests requiring escalation.

Produce appropriate documentation and provide regular training for back-up personnel.

Complete special assignments/projects requested by the Director of Operations, Security and Development.

Perform other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.

It is the employee and supervisor’s shared responsibility to regularly meet to discuss performance, suggest job description updates and set mutually beneficial goals.

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team and institutional goals.
Specific Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Related Field or equivalent experience.
-
Two years related job experience.
-
Combination of equivalent education and experience which satisfies the qualifications of the position.

Provide end-user support for technology solutions.
-
Ability to confidently demonstrate software and technology solutions to Southwestern employees.
-
Research technology solutions for organizational goals.
-
Strong English communication skills.

The following specialized computer skills are preferred:

Microsoft Active Directory.

Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, DHCP, and DNS.

Possess a strong work ethic and initiative.

Maintain regular on the job attendance and timeliness.

Possesses ability to multi-task and pays attention to detail.

Successful completion of background check, education verification, work verification and credit check may be required.

Ability to provide proof of Work Authorization in the U.S. and proof of identity.
Physical Requirements

Employment is generally in an office setting which requires personnel to be able to interact with others by various means of communicate and be able to traverse campus by any mode of personal transportation.
