Job Summary: 
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Cloud Security Engineer to join our growing team. The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for safeguarding our cloud-based systems, implementing and managing network security, identity management, and access control across our digital infrastructure. This role will work extensively with Azure, focusing on security configurations, network management, and advanced identity tools. Additionally, the Cloud Security Engineer will ensure compliance with security policies and manage access solutions like LAPS and SSO integrations.

Role Specific Duties:

  • Cloud Security & Identity Management 
  • Implement and manage security policies, access controls, and identity configurations within Azure. 
  • Develop and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions and integrate them with cloud and SaaS applications. 
  • Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) in a cloud environment to control permissions and enforce security protocols. 
  • Password & Endpoint Security 
  • Deploy and oversee Microsoft’s Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) for secure management of administrative passwords on endpoint devices. 
  • Manage user access permissions and privileges in alignment with security best practices. 
  • Network Security & Compliance 
  • Design and maintain virtual networks, subnets, and firewall rules to protect data and applications in a remote, cloud-only environment. 
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of security systems to prevent unauthorized access, data leaks, and other security incidents. 
  • Maintain compliance with data protection regulations and internal security standards. 
  • Azure Administration & Ticket Assistance 
  • Assist with Azure administration, including resource management, monitoring, and optimization. 
  • Provide support and resolve IT tickets related to security, access, and cloud infrastructure issues. 
  • Other Duties as Assigned 
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects as needed, contributing to infrastructure improvements, automation, and organizational security. 

Required Qualification:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT security, cloud infrastructure, or network administration. 
  • In-depth experience with Azure, including Azure Active Directory, network security configurations, and cloud security practices. 
  • Familiarity with tools such as LAPS, SSO technologies, and GPO management. 
  • Strong understanding of network security, VPNs, firewalls, and access management. 
  • Solid knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards for data protection. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft or Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus. 
  • Experience with zero-trust architectures and secure cloud solutions. 
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation in a cloud setting. 

Additional Requirement:

  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
