About this Role:
Carrier is seeking engineering students (software, electrical, mechanical, systems, etc.) with strong academic performance and leadership abilities to join our Cyber Security Internship Program. This opportunity allows you to contribute to strategic projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Participants will engage in hands-on, meaningful assignments designed to enhance their skills and accelerate professional growth. The program includes high-Caliber training, mentorship, and guidance from Carrier executives and alumni, fostering a strong global network.
Project Overview: As a Cyber Security Intern, you will be part of our dynamic cybersecurity team, working on real-world projects that protect our organization’s digital assets. This internship will provide hands-on experience in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity threats.
Embedded Cyber Security Project: As an Embedded Security Cyber Security Intern, you will join our cybersecurity team to work on projects focused on securing embedded systems. This internship will provide hands-on experience in analyzing and implementing security measures for embedded devices, which are critical in various industries such as automotive, and IoT. Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting security assessments of embedded systems to identify vulnerabilities.
- Help implement security features such as encryption, secure boot, and access control in embedded systems.
- Learn penetration testing on embedded devices to evaluate their security posture.
Cloud Security Project: As a Cloud Security Cyber Security Intern, you will be part of our cybersecurity team, focusing on securing our cloud infrastructure. This internship will provide hands-on experience in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats specific to cloud environments. Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting security assessments of cloud infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities.
- Help implement security measures such as encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and network security controls in cloud environments.
- Learn about cloud environments for security threats and anomalies using advanced security tools.
Application and Mobile Security Project: As an Application and Mobile Security Cyber Security Intern, you will join our cybersecurity team to work on projects aimed at securing applications and mobile devices. This internship will provide hands-on experience in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats specific to software applications and mobile platforms. Key responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting security assessments of web and mobile applications to identify vulnerabilities.
- Help review and implement secure coding practices to prevent common vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF.
- Assist in implementing security measures for mobile applications, including encryption, secure authentication, and data protection.
- Learn about penetration testing on applications and mobile devices to evaluate their security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand security protocols and standards.
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing.
- Learn and understand about various security testing tools and their integration.
- Research, develop, and validate technology alternatives in product cyber security.
- Support activities like security assurance testing, cyber risk assessment and threat modelling.
- Design security controls and implement security-related modules.
- Lead cybersecurity thought leadership, advisement, and training.
- Collaborate with global teams and external partners on disruptive projects.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cyber security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive, results-driven, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in cloud architecture, software security fundamentals, and secure networking.
