Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Primary Responsibilities:
Incident handling across the Cox national network in support of United States critical infrastructure.
Detect, investigate, and respond to incidents using SIEM, DLP, XDR, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
Automate repetitive processes using automation or scripting languages like Python or PowerShell.
Perform threat hunting and purple teaming using MITRE ATT&CK TTPs and IOCs.
Log analysis to identify abnormal behavior and potential security breaches.
Triage and prioritize of incident queue by severity / impact and escalating when necessary.
Collaborate with network, system administrators, and other security teams for investigation and remediation.
Document and review cyber incidents to understand the attack lifecycle and identify preventative controls.
Review and update procedures, workflows, techniques, and provide guidance as applicable.
Remain current in the latest trends in threat intelligence, security monitoring and incident response.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in cyber security. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field.
Knowledge of SIEM, search, and analysis skills: i.e., Sentinel, Splunk, Elastic, Qradar, Chronicle.
Practical experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Knowledge and application of cyber-attack frameworks; MITRE ATT&CK, Lockheed Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model, etc.
Understanding and ability to perform threat hunting.
Advanced knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies.
Understanding of network traffic analysis methods including packet-level analysis.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic, takes initiative, and owns their work.
Exceptional ability to communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means.
Preferred:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.
Certifications like, CySA+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified SOC Analyst (CSA), or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
Demonstrable skills with training communities like TryHackMe, Hack-The-Box, etc.
Experience with endpoint security agents (Microsoft Defender, Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, etc.)
Experience with network forensics and associated toolsets, (Suricata, WireShark, PCAP, tcpdump, etc.) and analysis techniques.
