Enterprise Network Architect

Locations: Melbourne – Yarra Falls (Hybrid)

In this position, you’ll be based in the Abbotsford office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. This role has in-office operational requirements and so we’re unable to consider employees who wish to continue an existing, fully remote working arrangement.

A role you will love

Reporting to the Global Head of Network Engineering, you will be responsible for defining and evolving the enterprise network architecture vision, standards, and roadmap across our hybrid cloud and on-premises environments ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and performance of mission-critical services.

Working closely with business stakeholders, you will translate strategic objectives into practical network architecture solutions while driving innovation and digital transformation initiatives. You will evaluate emerging network technologies and industry trends to recommend strategic investments that advance our technical capabilities and business goals.

The successful Enterprise Network Architect will have a strong technical background and a strategic mindset, balancing immediate needs with long-term vision. Staying updated on industry trends and maintaining relationships with technology partners will be vital. Your solutions-driven approach and positive attitude will be key to your success.

Other key responsibilities:

• Lead the evolution of network architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Set global network standards and frameworks for excellence and consistency
• Collaborate with business, product, and IT teams to define the future network landscape
• Oversee governance, ensuring architectural quality and compliance
• Drive innovation by staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies
• Manage the full network lifecycle, including vendor relationships and end-of-life planning
• Provide architectural oversight throughout project lifecycles, ensuring solutions meet business needs
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation for strategic planning and alignment

What will you bring to the role

We are seeking a proactive, and driven individual; someone who is passionate about Technology Leadership. You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills, coupled with a global mindset that allows you to work on a global scale with ease. Your strong technical knowledge, coupled with your experience, will be instrumental in your success in this role.

Some other key skills you’ll have:

• Proven experience in enterprise network architecture with a proven track record of developing and implementing network strategies across global organizations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
• CCIE certifications a must
• Expertise in enterprise network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS), network virtualization, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), SD-WAN, network security, Zero Trust, and network automation
• Technical proficiency in high-availability design, load balancing, data center interconnection, network segmentation, container networking, analytics, and API-driven management.
• Strong knowledge of SDN, intent-based networking, Network-as-Code, DevOps/NetOps, and cloud-native networking

Preferred experience/skills:

• Expertise in next-gen technologies, network automation, observability, cloud-native architectures, Zero Trust, and 5G/edge networks
• Proven experience with multi-cloud network architectures, cloud-native security models, M&A, transformation programs, DevSecOps, and site reliability engineering
• Certifications: CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr), cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP), TOGAF, ITIL, and security certifications (CISSP, CCSP)
