Position Summary
The Senior Cyber Fraud Defense Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization from sophisticated cyber fraud schemes by analyzing threats, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing defense mechanisms. This role requires deep expertise in fraud detection techniques, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity measures. The individual will work on complex cybersecurity challenges, leading efforts to counter fraud schemes and ensuring the organization's assets and data are secure. As a senior team member, the Analyst will mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of new strategies to detect and prevent fraud. With over 7 years of experience in cybersecurity and fraud prevention, the Senior Cyber Fraud Defense Analyst will act as a key resource for the Cyber Detect & Respond team, applying technical knowledge and creative solutions to high-priority threats.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Cyber Fraud Investigations
Spearhead investigations into sophisticated cyber fraud incidents, utilizing advanced forensic tools and methodologies to identify the root cause and ensure comprehensive resolution.
2. Develop and Implement Fraud Defense Strategies
Design, develop, and implement fraud detection and prevention strategies, leveraging the latest threat intelligence and fraud indicators to stay ahead of emerging fraud trends.
3. Collaborate Across Teams for Fraud Defense
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and other cybersecurity divisions, to implement fraud defense mechanisms and ensure alignment across the organization.
4. Monitor Fraud Detection Systems
Continuously monitor fraud detection systems to identify vulnerabilities and potential fraud threats, applying advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to detect suspicious patterns.
5. Mentor and Guide Junior Analysts
Serve as a resource and mentor for junior cybersecurity and fraud defense team members, providing guidance and support to enhance the team’s expertise and fraud detection capabilities.
6. Contribute to Fraud Prevention Best Practices
Proactively identify new fraud prevention tools, methods, and strategies. Share insights with the team and develop best practices for mitigating future fraud attempts.
7. Report and Communicate Findings to Leadership
Regularly present analysis, findings, and recommendations related to fraud incidents and emerging fraud trends to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and influencing cybersecurity strategy.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
Education/Training – Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Business Experience – 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on fraud detection and prevention.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
Expertise in cyber fraud investigation techniques, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence.
Proven track record of developing and implementing fraud detection systems.
Strong communication and presentation skills for effectively communicating findings to senior leadership.
Experience mentoring junior team members and fostering team collaboration.
Certifications such as CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CISSP, or CISM are preferred.
Working Conditions: Environment (Office, warehouse, etc.) – Traditional office environment.
Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) – Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.
