Job Description:

   

We are looking for a highly-technical senior engineering manager to join our GreenLake Platform Identify and Access Management organization and lead a team developing one of the most mission-critical components of the IAM stack. This component is at the heart of the GreenLake platform, and every customer touches this component on every interaction with the platform. 

GreenLake is HPE’s hybrid cloud platform is used by tens of thousands of enterprise customers to deploy and manage resources across private and public clouds while retaining control of their data and flexibility over how they consume and manage their services.  

To be successful in this role you will need a broad skill set that allows you to lead several scrum teams through partnership with many stakeholders and active collaboration with architects, UX, product and program manager, other engineering and quality control teams and HPE executives across multiple geos (Ireland, Brazil, US). 

 

As Senior Engineering Manager in the IAM organization you will: 

  • Understand the broader vision of GreenLake Platform and onboard the teams to work towards achieving it collaboratively, keeping the highest engineering standards. 

  • Identify and own end-to-end problem space (Product features, End User Experience, Technology and business), provide multi-quarter roadmaps to the team, embrace constraints and prioritize effectively. 

  • Foster the growth and advancement of your teams by engaging in discussions with team members regarding career development, ensuring their progression aligns with the long-term vision and broader business requirements. 

  • Comprehend and highlight the critical importance to the business, define and take ownership of the roadmap, release milestones, and effectively communicate key information to stakeholders. 

  • Manage the balance between feature delivery, speed and quality/technical debt 

About You: 

  • 10 years of experience developing complex, distributed software applications at cloud scale 

  • 5 years of experience in people management and building cohesive teams across multiple Geos. 

  • Proficient with one or more programming languages (Python, GoLang, NodeJS) 

  • Deep understanding of cloud-native application development, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, K8s, micro-services and the AWS stack (EC2, API GW, EKS, MKS, ELB, etc). 

  • Experience running mission-critical (99.99% SLA), high-throughput cloud-based applications including observability, alerting, incident response

  • Strong interpersonal skills and focus on team-orientation. Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) with a wide range of people and role versatility. 

  • Has a point of view and is comfortable in collaborating and respectfully challenging other stakeholders. 

  • (Bonus) Previous experience in IAM or security space and familiarity with the standards/protocols (OAuth, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, etc.)
