You will be part of the IS/IT department. The IS/IT department is a team of 150 highly skilled and motivated professionals. We have embraced the Agile way of working and have 18 squads working in DevOps mode providing IT services to our 3000 Thales & GTS Netherlands colleagues. 

In this position you will join the Thales Netherlands IS/IT team. IS/IT is at the core of the Thales digital transformation, there is a close relationship between IS/IT and business.

We aim to deliver best in class IT solutions to our Thales Netherlands colleagues. This is done within our agile IT teams who work in close interaction with the colleagues in the business. The Solution Architect Security & Identity Access Management (SIAM) works on the architecture and solutions for our environments and applications together with the Enterprise Architect(s), other Solutions Architects and Security.


About the job

Your typical day starts with a brief standup with the squad in which you update each other and define actions. During standups squad members discuss what went well, what could be improved and where they still need help. Afterwards, take your time with a cup of coffee to work on some e-mails and questions. Then, it is time to work on solutions and architecture within the SIAM domain.

As a Solution Architect for the SIAM squad you are part of the IS/IT Security domain and you help architect, challenge, and provide leadership to standardize, modernize and digitalize our IS/IT security environments and applications landscape.

Your contribution to the squad:

  • Understand end-to-end business requirements and translate these to IS/IT solutions;
  • Validate technical designs with security, enterprise architect and other architects;
  • Describe and decide how the solutions and processes will look like and how they interact with each other using modelling tools and techniques;
  • Take the lead in the maintenance, improvement and development of IS/IT solutions;
  • Implement / refine / explore enablers from the architectural runway;
  • Collaborate with other architects & Thales Group and exchange best practices & tools.

About you

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Has a (technical) bachelor or master degree;  
  • Has proven experience (>5 years) as a solution architect, preferably within Cyber Security;
  • Has an industry-standard accreditation (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, CISM).
  • Is knowledgeable in Security and IAM best practices and relevant solutions
  • Experience with SailPoint IIQ (or similar solutions) would be a big plus
  • Has a positive mindset, entrepreneurial, responsible, decisive, analytical and result-oriented;
  • Is an excellent planner and works well in a dynamic environment;
  • Has experience working in an Agile environment;
  • A team player that will work well in a cross functional team environment;
  • Is flexible, stress-resistant and organizationally strong.
  • Has strong social and communication skills;
  • Is fluent in English.
