Position Overview 

The Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents to protect the organization’s projects, systems, and data. This role ensures that the company remains resilient against cyber threats by implementing robust security measures, conducting risk assessments, and staying updated with emerging security trends.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor networks, systems, and applications for suspicious activity and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security alerts and escalate potential incidents.
• Respond to security incidents and breaches, including containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

• Identify, assess, and prioritize security vulnerabilities in the organization's systems.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration testing.

• Analyze logs and reports generated by security tools for anomalies.

• Assist in identifying security risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Support internal and external audits related to cybersecurity.

• Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote best practices.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation on security incidents, configurations, and processes.

• Stay updated with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends.

Requirements

What we need from you

Must-Have Skills

• Good understanding of OWASP Top 10 and Risk Rating 
• Good understanding of web application security principles and best practices
• Basic understanding of penetration testing for web applications and how to act upon findings and vulnerabilities
• Familiarity with mobile application security testing methodologies and tools 
• Familiarity with code review cycle 
• Basic understanding of common web application vulnerabilities
• Strong interest in security for web and mobile applications
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to manage interactions with developers and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a development team

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Good level of reading and understanding PHP or Java for web applications
• Understanding of security domains, preventive measures, and incident response
• Hands-on experience developing web applications (e.g. with Laravel and Nox frameworks)
• Hands-on experience with secure coding practices and code review processes in web applications
• Knowledge of secure development lifecycle (SDL) methodologies
• Basic familiarity with cloud security concepts and best practices (e.g., AWS cloud) and infrastructure security
• Basic Understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs)
• Basic familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards
• Certification in security domains is an advantage
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
