Kmart is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our systems, assets, and data from evolving cyber threats. This permanent position focuses on Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and offers the opportunity to strengthen Kmart’s cybersecurity framework, drive data protection strategies, and contribute to the development of a robust security culture.

 

As a key member of our Cyber Security team, you will ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data. Your expertise in managing critical cybersecurity toolsets will directly protect our customers, reputation, and financial stability.

 

What You'll Do

 

As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading incident management and response to ensure timely, effective resolutions.

  • Managing and optimizing security devices and tools, including Microsoft Sentinel, Cortex XDR, and CrowdStrike.

  • Driving Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and addressing gaps with cutting-edge solutions.

  • Securing systems against advanced threats, including mitigating DDoS attacks.

  • Configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto) and network security protocols.

  • Protecting Active Directory environments through access control and privilege management.

  • Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to implement and enhance security solutions.

  • Conducting proactive research to analyze security vulnerabilities and recommend strategies.

  • Managing security incidents, coordinating patch management, and ensuring compliance.

 

What You'll Bring

 

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in incident management and risk mitigation.

  • Deep expertise in DLP, EDR/XDR, CASB, and email security tools such as Proofpoint.

  • Knowledge of cyber-attacks, threat vectors, and data protection strategies.

  • Experienced in AWS Cloud security, specializing in implementing robust security controls, assisting in risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to safeguard cloud environments

  • Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux systems in a security context.

  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and network security protocols.

  • Proven ability to secure cloud environments and lead audits for improved security posture.

  • A proactive mindset with a passion for mentoring and developing cybersecurity talent.
