As a Physical Security Analyst,  you will be responsible for executing physical security operations and real estate/workplace experience initiatives in a manner consistent with MDFM & Scotiabank policies, procedures, quality, standards, customer/employee needs and applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:


•    Be responsible for administration and coordination of real estate & workplace experience projects, programs, and initiatives.

•    Be responsible for administration and coordination of physical security activities, including building access management, security guard coordination, and other daily activities.  

•    Supervise 3rd parties who monitor existing security systems and responds to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis. 

•    Participate in the creation and/or maintenance of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures)

•    Maintain security systems for repair, quality and effectiveness and to determine potential of physical security upgrades and modifications

•    Participate in the design and execution of threat and risk assessments, security tests and security audits.

•    Supervise contracted security companies hired for equipment upgrades, maintenance, and installation of physical security systems

•    Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

•    Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

The Must Haves:


•    University degree or equivalent college diploma 
•    Minimum 2+ year’s work experience (preferably in physical security operations)
•    Proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn software programs
•    Excellent problem-solving skills
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to multi-task with conflicting priorities
•    Ability to accept challenges and adapt to a changing environment

 

Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.


•    Work in a standard office-based environment or on a hybrid basis.
•    Provide 24/7 on-call support on 2-week rotational basis.  Must be available to perform work duties, if necessary, outside of your regularly scheduled hours. Being placed On-Call means you are reachable by phone, e-mail or pager, and are available to perform work on-site or off-site with the level of alertness and professionalism that would be expected while working during your regularly scheduled hours.  Eligible for On-Call pay during your rotation.
