We are seeking an experienced Staff Computer Systems Architect with expert knowledge of ground infrastructure requirements and specific automation techniques. This position can be located in Redondo Beach, CA, or Aurora, CO.

This position is contingent upon program award and/or costumer funding.

What you'll get to do?

As a Computer Systems Architect, your duties will include reviewing, understanding and designing Red Hat Linux systems to address a wide range of infrastructure requirements; working with isolated computer networks; understanding of cyber controls, cyber mitigations, RMF artifacts and cyber testing techniques; understanding of automation for both Infrastructure as Code and cyber hardening/patching.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 Years with Bachelors in Science; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD
  • Active Secret Clearance at the time of application
  • Ability to present findings and progress reports in a presentation format with leaders at various levels both in person and remote
  • Understanding of Cyber products for systems to include logging, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection mechanisms, patching systems, anti virus and related processes
  • Understanding of operating systems for Linux
  • Understanding Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and configuration standards for DOD IA and IA-enabled devices/systems
  • Experience in cyber controls as they relate to ground stations (this will include common and uncommon mitigation strategies across a multi-platform system)
  • General understanding of network operations; assign IP address, hostname, DNS, NTP, etc
  • Upkeep of system configurations with proper configuration management
  • Security+ or equivalent certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting real-time operations, and the ground hardware and software involved with mission operations
  • Current DoD 8570 Security + CE certification (IAT Level II compliant)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
  • Vendor certifications from any of VMware, RedHat, Microsoft or Cisco
  • Subject Matter Expert for automation techniques leveraging Ansible coding and tools

Salary Range: $157,500.00 - $247,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
