Position: Digital Security - Senior Manager, Strategy & Delivery Governance

Previous experience: Preferable 5+ years relevant work experience in security governance, risk, and compliance with at least 3 years of working as a senior expert or manager of a significant department.

Location: London/Cambridge, United Kingdom (3 days at the office)

Employment type: Full-time regular (flexible working options available)

The job

The partner specialist for Security GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) is a senior member of the global security team whose primary role is to lead the development and continual improvement of the risk and assurance services provided by the Digital Security Team.

This role will be responsible for defining and overseeing the execution of Digital Security strategic initiatives and work plans that underpin the AVEVA mission. The role involves enhancing and embedding a comprehensive delivery framework that enables Digital Security delivery to achieve strategic objectives via robust risk management and quality assurance practices. The role will need to lead matrix delivery teams across the Digital Security function and the wider organisation to enable delivery plans to be baselined with necessary stakeholders involved in the fulfilment and consumption of enhanced security services.

Key responsibilities

  • Digital Security Strategy: Collaborate with the Digital Security Leadership Team (SLT) to understand baseline capabilities and with direction from the CISO formulate the Digital Security strategy

  • Delivery Management: Enhance, operate, and optimise the delivery standards, processes, workflows, and templates across the Digital Security department to enable a clear line of sight across the work plans via consistent delivery techniques

  • Delivery Oversight and Advice: Provide oversight on the effectiveness and efficiency of Digital Security projects and business as usual delivery work plans to provide confidence to the CISO and executive leadership strategic objectives will be achieved

  • Financial Management: Build, operate, and optimise Digital Security budget and cost control processes that monitor and track delivery via formal financial reporting

  • Operational Management: Lead operational service and team planning to deliver effective and efficient services. Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise team members to build a competent professional skilled team with clear career pathways for members

  • Senior Leadership: Provide GRC consultation to executives and thought leadership and complete work tasks to set and enable Digital Security GRC strategy

Ideal experience

  • Experience: Preferable 5+ years relevant work experience in security governance, risk, and compliance with at least 3 years of working as a senior expert or manager of a significant department

  • Leadership: Significant experience leading teams, projects, and day-to-day operations focussed on security risk assurance with preference for experience obtained in a software or internet service organisation

  • Strategy: Significant experience in developing, implementing, and optimising security delivery strategies in-line with organisational policies and standards

  • Delivery Management: Extensive experience of developing and implementing strategic plans to enable successful delivery of projects and business as usual delivery work plans

  • Customer Focussed: Skilled in developing strong trusted customer relationships built on understanding their needs over time and delivering what’s promised

  • Creativity: Capable of tackling risk management challenges with innovative solutions and a fresh perspective

  • People Skills: Proven influencing skills that enable effective engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders to enable win/win situations. Experienced in managing conflicting priorities, multiple tasks, and working within a matrix manged environment to achieve successful outcomes

  • Knowledge of Business Technology and Digital Products: Stays current on regulations and understanding the impact of technology on the Digital Security services and the organisations security risk control positions

  • Qualifications: A professional certification in governance or compliance, such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent

  • Education: A degree in a relevant field such as cyber security, risk management, information technology or related technical field

Hybrid working
