The Team

Nasdaq’s Office of General Counsel within the Legal, Risk & Regulatory Group is focused on providing the highest quality compliance advice and program management to our company.  We are looking for an energetic and enterprising Senior Associate General Counsel to work independently and creatively to design, implement and maintain compliance programs related to privacy, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity and handle various initiatives supporting compliance governance, product development and incident response across Nasdaq’s global enterprise.  In this role, you will be part of a team located in the U.S. and Europe reporting to Nasdaq’s Principal Associate General Counsel for Global Ethics and Compliance under the Senior Deputy General Counsel and Global Chief Compliance Officer.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this role include: 

  • Collaborate closely with Nasdaq’s artificial intelligence (AI) governance and use case review teams to provide advice on privacy, AI and cybersecurity considerations for AI applications
  • Develop and implement policy, procedures and compliance controls to support Nasdaq’s AI initiatives and priorities
  • Conduct and maintain current data protection impact assessments (DPIA) and legitimate interest assessments (LIA) of higher risk business processes and applications
  • Advise business teams on complex issues and questions related to privacy, AI and cybersecurity requirements
  • Coordinate privacy program activities with attorneys, Information Security team members, Nasdaq’s European Data Protection Officer and other core privacy program stakeholders
  • Engage with product development teams to address privacy-by-design and compliance-by-design considerations; support global expansion of service offerings that include personal data processing
  • Maintain compliance elements of cyber incident and data breach response plans; participate as part of incident response teams
  • Along with team members, monitor global AI, cyber and privacy laws and regulations; identify and implement compliance program updates to reflect regulatory change.  Draft analysis and comments in response to regulatory requests for comment
  • Prepare resources to support privacy compliance including FAQs and other informational materials; conduct privacy-related training and addressing questions on privacy compliance

Skills and requirements

To thrive in this role, besides having a genuine curiosity about the financial markets and sharing our view that an efficient regulation is a cornerstone of well-functioning markets, we believe that you have:

  • An LL.M. (Master of Laws)
  • Approximately 7-10 years of professional experience with a focus on one or more of the following: emerging technology, privacy, cyber security or related areas of the law
  • International experience, working e.g. for a European law firm, a European regulated entity, or a European financial supervisory authority
  • Strong collaboration skills to engage with business, technology, risk management and other functions to produce practical solutions in fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and creative thinking to address business needs in a risk-based manner in the context of regulatory uncertainty or ambiguity
  • Ability to develop compliance solutions that can apply across global jurisdictions
  • Working proficiency in the English language, knowledge in additional Baltic or Nordic language is a merit

As a person you have the ability to develop trusted working relationships at all levels of the organization. You have experience being an adviser towards the organization and act proactively across different business units, functions and regional locations.

This is a full-time permanent position located in Vilnius. Nasdaq offers a hybrid workplace to find a balance between working from home and collaborating in the office, therefore it's required to come into the office at least 2 days per week.

Monthly base salary 4800-5300 EUR gross. The final offer will be based on your experience and skills.
