Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Specialist to provide security and protection program support for all aspects of the security disciplines associated with the PWS and Building 363. The Security Specialist will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of security functions, including Information Security (INFOSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), Foreign Disclosure, Industrial Security, Insider Threat, Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security, and Key Control. This role will ensure compliance with security regulations, manage access control, and support various facilities housing sensitive information and systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Security Program Support:
    • Provide security support for all required security disciplines related to Building 363 and the PWS, including INFOSEC, OPSEC, Foreign Disclosure, Industrial Security, Insider Threat, PERSEC, Physical Security, and Key Control.
    • Implement and manage key control processes for the building, ensuring proper accountability and security of keys.
    • Control visitor access to the building, verifying security clearances and processing Visit Access Requests (VARs) via DISS.
    • Support physical security measures, ensuring the protection of facilities housing PdM Biometrics systems and environments, including SIPRNET facilities.
  • Security Documentation and Compliance:
    • Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security disciplines.
    • Develop and implement procedures for Operational Security (OPSEC) and Anti-Terrorism requirements.
    • Ensure all security practices are compliant with Army Regulations related to physical, operational, personnel, information, communications, and industrial security.
    • Provide input and support for the development of security protocols, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Security Operations and Risk Mitigation:
    • Monitor and support insider threat detection and mitigation strategies, ensuring appropriate responses are in place.
    • Support Foreign Disclosure processes, ensuring all activities align with regulations and security protocols.
    • Conduct security risk assessments and make recommendations to mitigate potential threats to personnel, facilities, and classified information.

Required Skills: 

  • DoD Security Specialist GS101.01 provided by the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE)).
  • Knowledge and experience in security disciplines, including INFOSEC, OPSEC, PERSEC, and Industrial Security.
  • Experience managing key control and access control systems.
  • Ability to write and implement SOPs for security procedures.
  • Familiarity with the Army Regulations for various security domains.

Nice to Have Skills: 

  • Experience with security in DoD environments, particularly in relation to biometrics or classified information systems.
  • Familiarity with SIPRNET and systems that support secure information sharing and access control.
  • Experience in supporting insider threat programs and foreign disclosure processes.
  • Experience in insider threat detection and response strategies.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Terrorism and Operational Security (OPSEC) requirements and their implementation in a DoD environment.
  • Experience with SIPRNET and classified environments.

Education and Experience:

  • At least a high school diploma required and
  • Five (5) years of experience in physical, personnel, operational and/or communications security

  • Secret
