A Brief Overview
Under the supervision of In-House Counsel, the Associate Analyst, Legal assists in reviewing and negotiating agreements with FirstBank's vendors and in maintaining the Bank's customer facing agreements. The Associate Analyst may further carry out eDiscovery tasks, perform research, and handle other legal tasks as assigned.
What you will do
- Under supervision of the Bank's In-House Counsel, Review and negotiate vendor agreements
- Aid in processing eDiscovery and litigation hold requests, send litigation hold notices, preserve potential evidence in compliance with legal obligations, and advise employees on litigation risk and processes
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Aid in maintaining internal standard template agreements
- Assist with compliance with Court Orders where necessary
- Collaborate with other internal departments such as information security, privacy, vendor management, and project management
- Assist with subpoena response, manage complex document review, and perform necessary redactions
- Help to maintain and periodically review customer account agreements
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
- Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy
Minimum Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field.
- A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 3 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience revising and negotiating contracts
- Familiarity with technology agreements
- Experience working at a law firm, or in-house legal department
- eDiscovery or subpoena response experience
- Experience performing legal research
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of common contract provisions
- Verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused under the pressure of contract negotiations and high-stakes discussions
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
- Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
- Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
- Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
- Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
- FirstBank does not currently offer fully remote positions, except as required by law. The actual number of in-office days that may be required will vary by business unit, role, and business need.
Salary Range
$37.00 Per Hour to $50.00 Per Hour
