The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) engages families for success. Its Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) manages nearly 251,000 cases to ensure that child support payments of $590 million per year reach families across the Commonwealth. This position is responsible for ensuring DCSE Ensuring DCSE sensitive systems meet Federal, Commonwealth of Virginia, and Agency security standards. The position will work with Information Systems and Risk Management (ISRM), IT and Data Analytics teams, network service providers and security staff to ensure federal and state security requirements are included in SDLC activities. Responsible for creating and maintaining all security artifacts, performing scanning, tracking vulnerability remediation, and updating system security plans to meet changing business, security, technology requirements and will provide direct support to DCSE Business, Information Systems and Risk Management (ISRM), IT and Data Analytics teams, network service providers, and security staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical and Functional Expertise: · Working knowledge of and experience with security designs in applications · Demonstrated ability to independently conduct research, analyze, interpret and apply complex federal and state statutes, regulations, policies, procedures, legislative documents and mandates. ·Demonstrated ability to develop supportable conclusions and/or recommendations. · Demonstrated ability to compile and analyze complex design documents · Working knowledge of trends in information security vulnerabilities and methods to control. · Possess MS Office computer software application skills along with knowledge of and experience computer applications design software. Possess a thorough understanding of information security practices and policies, applications and network security issues.
Results Focus: ·Issue analyses, assessments and reports on applications design, risk analysis, contracts, data sharing agreements, MOA, MOU, RFI, RFP, etc. ·Participate and Score RFP responses and provide input at contract stage.
Interpersonal Communication: · Developing and maintaining positive relationships; exchanging ideas and opinions.
Personal Effectiveness: · Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups of organizations and people. · Demonstrated ability to triage incoming requests ensuring that priority items are addressed timely. Teamwork: · Collaborating and cooperating to get the job done. personal effectiveness ·Self-development, achieving results, and solving problems. Planning, organizing and managing own time and work. Obtain additional professional certifications in related discipline.

Moderate to considerable experience in Programming and Application Development, desirably in a SQLserver.Net environment; Network Administration, and Security+.
Additional Considerations
Relevant training or coursework in Information Technology.
Information Security experience.
GISF, GSEC, GISP, CISM or CISSP professional certification.
