eCrew or the Real Estate, Facilities and Administration team of Walmart’s vision is to continually strive for excellence in the quality of services provided to all the Walmart associates, with continuous improvement to meet and exceed the needs of our internal stakeholders through innovative and cost-effective solutions of consistent quality and high standard to build world class facility for Walmart in India.

eCrew is an enabler function which spearheads in the endeavor of providing best in class facilities and amenities to our associates including transportation, food facilities, travel, concierge desk, housekeeping services, electromechanical services, mobile/data card connectivity and other related services

Job Summary:

As part of eCrew you will be part of a team which provides the best of facilities and real estate solutions to the organization and its associates (employees) across various areas.  As part of this team, you are the key owner to conceive innovative ideas and execute those ideas for existing facilities or upcoming facilities.  You will get to dab your hands on any of the verticals be it transportation, food, travel, concierges, housekeeping or any allied services to make the Walmart facility the World Class facility in India. 

What you will do:

  • Risk and Compliance for Real Estate Operations is to ensure that all real estate activities and transactions adhere to regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Responsibilities include identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with real estate operations, as well as ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provides strategic direction to (direct reports and outsourced vendor teams) who oversee facilities operations of the site.
  • Participates in site level crisis including local FM, HR, Corporate security, Business Continuity (Risk / legal when required) also establish and maintain open, positive relationship with team and customers.
  • Build relationships with key business stakeholders by monitoring and listening to feedback, delivers bespoke reporting for business – critical elements including occupancy, new site launches and facility improvements.
  • Ensure that the buildings for which responsibility is held are presentable, clean, safe and an environment for occupants and visitors.
  • Ensures that the Facilities management, real estate, transport, travel, events, helpdesk, command center and other services are performed and delivered in accordance with contract, global and regional KPIs.
  • Ensure that all relevant financials by are/ country, building and project are aligned with budgets, compliance, and specific timelines.
  • Effectively manages escalations, corrections of errors, demonstrating sound judgment in making required trade-offs between business opportunity Vs. resource Vs sustainability. 

Principal Job Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment: identifying and evaluating potential risks within the organization, including operational, financial, legal, reputational, conducting risk assessments to determine the likelihood and potential impact of these risk on the organization objectives.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Establishing and maintaining a compliance program to ensure adherence to defined processes and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Monitoring and assessing compliance with applicable laws and regulations and developing. Procedures and controls to address any compliance gaps.
  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to guide associates in complying with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Ensuring that policies are up to date and communicated effectively to all associates.
  • Training and Education: providing training and education to associates on risk management practices, compliance requirements, and ethical standards. Conducting workshops or seminars to promote awareness and understanding of risk compliance issues throughout the organization.
  • Internal Controls: implementing and monitoring internal control system to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. This includes reviewing and evaluating existing controls, recommending improvements, and establishments to monitor compliance with controls.
  • Risk Mitigation: Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize the impact of identified risks. This may involve implementing risk transfer mechanisms, such as insurance, or developing contingency plans to address potential threats.
  • Incidents and issue management: investigating incidents or issues related to risk or compliance violations. Developing and implementing corrective actions to mitigate the impact of incidents and prevents future occurrences.
  • Reporting and communication: preparing and presenting reporting on risk management and compliance activities to senior management or regulatory authorities. Communicating effectively with stakeholders on risk and compliance matters and providing guidance on best practice and industry trends.

The scope of the compliance includes the following areas:

Soft Services: Housekeeping, pest control, waste management, and other related services. Transport: Fleet management, transportation efficiency, and safety compliance. Travel: International, Domestic, VISA and other travel-related services Real Estate: Property acquisition, leasing, management, and financial transactions. Compliance: Adherence to company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Invoicing: Accuracy and completeness of invoicing processes and records. Logistics: Inventory management, supply chain efficiency, and warehousing. Mechanical and Engineering: Maintenance, safety standards, and operational efficiency of machinery and equipment. Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC): Terms, conditions, performance, and cost-effectiveness of AMCs. Cafeteria: Quality, hygiene, and compliance of food services. Travel: Travel management, cost control, and compliance with travel policies.

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 8-10 + years professional experience required – a significant portion of which should demonstrate success in managing a property and facilities organization of similar size and complexity and building / maintain relationships with internal customers.
  • Skills: Analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Risk assessment, control methodologies, and regulatory requirements bachelor’s degree

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly competent with personal computers and productivity software., including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Share Point.
  • Good communication skills: proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management, excellent interpersonal skill
  • Understanding of sourcing / procurement, building systems and maintenance, vendor management and customer service
  • Comfortable with legal terms and structure for standard commercial contracts
  • Proven self-starter who sets aggressive goals and consistently gets results
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and successfully execute tactically
  • Effective resource management and program management skills.
