Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in securing our infrastructure, services, and data against evolving threats. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to improve our security posture.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring

• Configure and integrate infrastructure and software components with the enterprise SIEM platform.
• Create and maintain custom dashboards and alerting functions.
• Desirable: Experience with Elastic Cloud SIEM.

Incident Response

• Identify, categorise, and investigate security events.
• Lead the response to security incidents and analyse them to drive improvements.

Vulnerability Management

• Maintain and operate tools for vulnerability scanning.
• Collaborate with service owners and technical teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities within agreed timeframes.

Threat Management & Penetration Testing

• Perform regular scans and assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
• Assess emerging threats and techniques to evaluate their potential impact.
• Manage the external penetration testing programme.

Security Design and Architecture

• Contribute to the design and architecture of new internal services and third-party integrations.
• Ensure robust security measures are in place to protect system and data confidentiality, availability, and integrity.

Third-Party Security Evaluation

• Conduct technical evaluations of third-party products, services, and suppliers to ensure compliance with security standards and compatibility.

Security Improvements

• Analyse the threat landscape and potential risks to implement continuous security enhancements.

Certifications Support

• Provide technical assistance to support compliance with ISO and GSMA certifications.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Expertise with SIEM platforms, host vulnerability scanners, network scanners, firewalls, encryption, IDS, and scripting.
• Experience with Elastic Cloud SIEM, Tenable, and Jira (preferred but not essential).

Communication Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to convey technical risks and issues to non-technical audiences.

Professional Skills

• Highly organised with the ability to define, plan, prioritise, and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse complex security challenges to recommend effective solutions.

On-Call Requirement

The role includes participation in an on-call rota for the escalation of potential security issues.
