We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director of Security Operations to lead our organization's security operations center (SOC). This role will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and availability of our digital assets, applications, and networks. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive our security program forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning:
    • Assist the CISO in developing and implementing the overall security strategy.
    • Lead long-term planning efforts to ensure the security organization evolves with the threat landscape and business needs.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure security initiatives support overall business goals.
    • Identify emerging security trends and technologies, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
  • Security Operations Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SOC, ensuring 24x7x365 coverage.
    • Develop and evolve team member expertise, implementing tools, tracking KPIs, reporting, and SLAs.
    • Manage incident response, escalation management, root cause analysis, and conflict resolution.
    • Define escalation structure for chronic issues and act as the security operations escalation point.
    • Establish roles and responsibilities and create strong processes for escalations and troubleshooting.
  • Threat Intelligence & Incident Response:
    • Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and availability of digital assets.
    • Develop and implement a vulnerability management program.
    • Work cross-organizationally with peers in business units, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams.
    • Maintain, modify, and create security operations processes that are resilient and scalable.
    • Drive a program of continuous improvement.
  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Lead enterprise-wide vulnerability management program
    • Define and enforce vulnerability remediation SLAs
    • Oversee scanning infrastructure and tools
    • Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk
    • Track remediation metrics and compliance
    • Coordinate with IT teams on patch management
    • Report on vulnerability trends and metrics
    • Ensure comprehensive coverage across all assets
  • Team Management & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing security operations team.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
    • Identify and address skill gaps through training and professional development opportunities.
    • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred.
