POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Technical Lead, Network Operations will act as one of the leads for the ICT Network Operations Team. The candidate will direct themselves and the team to ensure that the right people are doing the right things at the right times. They are responsible for leading the entire team on balancing and prioritizing work for team optimization, process adherence, retraining etc.
This position also serves as an integral member of the ICT team involved with ICT service delivery, as well as leading and collaborating on ICT standards and strategies. In addition, this position will lead efforts to monitor and report key metrics regarding the ICT infrastructure health status of project offices and will act as the primary interface between the project ICT and HQ ICT teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Management:
- Support major incidents, escalations and conduct RCAs if needed.
- Supervise resources across the ICT Network Operations Team.
- Drive continuous improvement across the ICT Network Operations Team.
- Responsible for SOP adherence and updates.
- Participate in Problem and Change Management.
- Responsible and accountable for reporting personnel issues to the Director, Service Desk and Network Operations.
- Accountable for escalating technical and facilities-related incidents and issues.
- Assist the Director, Service Desk and Network Operations with recruiting, training and other initiatives.
- Provide backup coverage for the Director, Service Desk and Network Operations
- Responsible for mentoring, coaching and developing other team members of the ICT Network Operations Team.
Technical:
- Provide leadership and technical expertise as part of a global ICT solutions team responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining complex and critical ICT infrastructure and systems. This includes remote services, cloud servers/storage/virtualization deployments, wired and wireless networks, and cyber security assessments/validations.
- Demonstrate leadership and foster collaborative team approach and interact well with front line and management providing consultation and expert advice on systems and security related topics.
- Provides technical leadership in the planning and implementation of additions and modifications to the supported home office and project office infrastructure including the provisioning of servers, networking hardware, operating systems software and other related software both on-premises and cloud, as required.
- Leads the planning and implementation of network security as established by the corporate ICT department to ensure that system access to data is restricted to authorized staff.
- Works with field project teams to help design and implement internal systems that comply and integrate with the corporate infrastructure and enterprise architecture strategies.
- Reports field ICT infrastructure status concerning risks, issues, and anticipated projects to the Director, Service Desk and Network Operations.
- Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve ICT related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) expertise and responsibility for planning, monitoring, and technical support of the backup and restore functions within Winrock ICT.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) expertise on cloud computing techniques and technologies.
- Advise and assist other business units and projects, with data integration and migration efforts.
- Evaluate network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
- Ensure adequate data protection measures are in place and that these are tested on a regular basis.
- Take proactive steps to ensure an appropriate level of system availability and security.
- Participate in vulnerability assessment and risk mitigation analysis.
- Participate in the management of ICT security policies and procedures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place.
- Act as a point of escalation for onsite technical support tasks (e.g., onsite support for Executive Team Members and Sr. Directors) when needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least one of the following certifications: IT Infrastructure Certifications - CompTIA Network +, CCNA, CCNP, or Microsoft Cloud Certifications.
- 7+ years providing ICT services at firms with multinational presence with at least 500 employees.
- 7+ years of experience providing ICT services at firms that utilize hybrid (on-prem and cloud) solutions.
- 7+ years of experience with managing Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, Microsoft Windows Servers, Windows Domains using Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Thorough understanding of system and network, including LAN/WAN device configuration (routers, firewalls, TCP/IP Network Protocols, etc.) and network security best practices.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Active Directory services at the Tier 3 level, including group policy management.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Azure AD Connect or DirSync to synchronize identity data to the cloud.
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting system problems in a heterogeneous systems environment leveraging Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Web Application Proxy (WAP), application proxies, Kerberos constrained delegation, SSO, OAuth, OpenID, SAML, and MFA.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Domain concepts such as Domain/Forest trusts, replication, NTFS/ACL permissions, Group Policies, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with IT Security standards like CIS (Center for Internet Security), ISO, NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, FINRA, etc.
- Exposure to a variety of technologies such as web application proxies, databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers, network infrastructure, and understanding of security and dataflow within these components.
- Experience implementing and/or managing Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) and/or Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM).
- Working knowledge of Exchange systems and attributes in AD, with related support experience.
- Advanced experience at creating and modifying PowerShell scripts.
- Experience in managing Cisco Meraki Networking and Remote Access Management.
Required Travel: Occasional international and domestic travel.
Physical Demands:
- May need to conduct onsite trainings and presentations.
- May need to move IT equipment/hardware from one place to another.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
The salary range for this role is set between $110,000 and $125,000, with the majority of candidates typically landing within the midpoint of this range, there is an additional 10% contribution for a 403b annually and an excellent benefits package.
