Overview
Under the Direction of the Compliance Officer for the System, this position oversees all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information privacy practices.
Qualifications
Education: Require Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Healthcare Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Health Administration.
Education preferred: Master's degree
License, certification and/or registration: CHPC preferred.
Experience: Three years or more experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies or related area in compliance and risk management in a health care organization required.
Additional skills/abilities: Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of HIM, project management, and change management. Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills. Exemplary personal and professional conduct as ambassador for corporate responsibility program. Willingness to travel throughout the organization, as needed, to complete duties.
