Role purpose
Support the National Security Operations Manager and play a key role in Vicinity’s Centre of Expertise for Security and Emergency management across the national portfolio.Key Responsibilities
Supporting the priorities within the security strategy
Incident investigation and support to centre management teams; data analysis to identify key trends and develop solutions to improve national practices.
Conducting and supporting Security Risk assessment and assurance processes across the portfolio to maintain a regime of controls for related Enterprise and operating risks.
Engaging with all centre management teams to develop a more integrated and proactive approach to Security & Emergency management
Maintain a relationship with key security providers
Key Accountabilities
Strategy & Policy
Assist with the implementation of the security strategy
Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify security vulnerabilities as it relates to our assets
Support the design and implementation of appropriate security measures to mitigate identified risks
Support the implementation of Standard Operating Manuals (SOM’s) across suppliers and security teams
Incident Reporting & Analysis
Support the management of the security incident reporting system, ensuring effective recording of security incidents and utilisation of the data
Analyse crime trends, incident patterns and identify opportunity/risk response areas
Provide comprehensive reports to the organisation on security-related matters relevant to the audience
Contractor Management
Support relationship with security providers, ensuring delivery of service standards/KPIs
Proactive partnering with security providers to develop a culture of continuous improvement and understanding of technology opportunities for ongoing best practice
Attend quarterly reviews with National Security Operations Manager with providers and provide input where required
Monitor contracted security providers for compliance with state legislation relating to licensing
Have oversight of contractor roster data to ensure accuracy and that payment aligns with service provided
Asset Operations
Support for Asset teams on security, incident management and emergency management matters
Support with retailer engagement programs around security and safety.
Partners with Operational Technology management team to co-ordinate and support investment strategies for security and emergency technology across the portfolio, providing recommendation to Centre Manager teams, as required
External Stakeholder Relationships
Serve as the secondary point of contact for law enforcement and other relevant community stakeholders regarding significant security matters
Stay updated on latest counter-terrorism practices
Emergency Management
Act as a support person to the Emergency Management Liaison person
Assist with oversight at asset level of Emergency Management training provider in support of LGARS team
Respond to or support Centre Management teams with security incidents and emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed
Act as a 2nd delegate in Emergency Management Liaison (EL) for RIMT
Support the review of all EM incidents from a security risk mitigation POV

Experience & Capabilities
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE (what you have done)
5+ Years in law enforcement/security operations or related discipline
Advanced knowledge of modern security threat management, systems, tools, and techniques and can effectively apply the concepts
Demonstrated ability to utilise relevant technology including AI and analytics to detect and respond to identified threats.
Demonstrated skills and experience in resolving information security breaches against appropriate security frameworks, policies, and standards.
Exceptional communication skills, appropriate to employees at all levels, contractors and law enforcement.
Strong collaboration skills – able to achieve alignment between stakeholders with differing needs
A passion for educating others and ensuring all understand their role in security operations and a culture of trust and psychological safety.
Current Security Licence is highly desirable and Victorian Drivers Licence

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE (what you need to know)
Basic to Intermediate levels of knowledge in MS Office applications, including Excel for data and basic pivot tables
Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, and security technologies
