What You’ll Be Doing

The Consultant, DevSecOps is responsible to define DevSecOps tooling, technology, and process roadmap; collect and identify DevSecOps requirements and gaps; design and implement DevSecOps solution to automating source control, build, packaging, deployment, code quality control, application security and provide guidance and support to DevSecOps practice along with supports the implementation of traditional Application Security capabilities. The Consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance systems and applications. DevSecOps Consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure, automate processes, and implement best practices for monitoring and incident response.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategic Development & Execution: Perform and coordinate complex DevSecOps solution design activities. Understand the system requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency. Participate in agile software development projects by priming and executing DevSecOps activities such as build, packaging, and deployment. Ensure DevSecOps infrastructure and services, including GitHub, Jenkins, are current, reliable and optimal.

  • Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements. Set up and maintain automation by adopting trending DevSecOps technologies and processes. Develop, document, and promote branch/merge strategies, build and packaging methodologies, and ensure they comply with both CIBC and industry standards and best practices.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the DevOps solution lead and interface with the Various technology teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior DevSecOps engineer and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 7-10+ years’ experience in Software Configuration Management fundamental concepts and practices such as branch/merge strategies, build process, packaging approaches, and deployment best practice.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Java middleware application, front end application, and mobile native application build and deployment automation.
    • Working experience with:
    • Maven/Gradle
    • Jenkins
    • GitHub Actions
    • Docker
    • OpenShift/Kubernetes
    • Unix shell scripting
    • Nice to have:
    • Mobile native build (iOS and Android)
    • Azure DevOps
    • Helm
    • JBoss
    • Node/npm build
