Job Description

Purpose

Security Operations Center of Deutsche Telekom Technik GmbH  ensures continuous security monitoring of Deutsche Telekom network infrastructure. Security monitoring requires collecting data from more than 100k end devices. We search for an experienced system engineer that will manage quality of collected data and automate continuous monitoring and testing of data sources.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

• Ensure Data Integrity and Validation:

  • Develop and implement rules and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of security-related data.

• Implement Data Governance:

  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to maintain high data quality standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Monitor and Improve Data Quality:

  • Continuously monitor data quality metrics and key performance indicators, and implement automated systems for real-time monitoring and alerting.

• Ensure Data Security Compliance:

  • Work with security teams to ensure data handling practices comply with IT security policies and industry standards, addressing vulnerabilities as needed.

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis:

  • Investigate data quality issues and security breaches, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate future risks.

• Collaborate and Communicate with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data quality and security efforts, and effectively communicate issues and improvement plans.

• Manage Tools and Drive Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate and manage data quality tools and technologies, driving continuous improvement initiatives for data quality and security processes.

Qualifications

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

have a knowledge in:

• Master’s degree
• Networking
• IT security - MITRE ATT&CK, Threat Hunting, Anomaly Detection, etc.
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, or specific ELK certifications would be nice

Nice to have :

• IT automation (ansible, puppet), CI/CD
• Regular expressions
• Syslog-ng, rsyslog
• GNU/Linux: system administration
• Elastic Stack: Logstash (configuration, TLS certificates), Elasticsearch
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Kafka
• Apache Spark

Languages

• English - Upper intermediate (B2)

• Good communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work across various cultures and across organizations and company boundaries.
• Good presentation skills
• Both a self-starter and team player, who can work without direct supervision
• Creative thinker, ability to see the bigger picture in a pragmatic, sensible way

• Ability to present solution designs to customers and colleagues

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2500 € /brutto.
