Display a strong background in security operations, threat detection, and security engineering. Be responsible for key contributions in developing Threat Defense Solutions, focusing on detection, automation, and development of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities which enable the SOC to achieve measurable growth and maturity. Work with in-house teams to identify the right mix of tools, techniques, and procedures to translate your customer’s needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. Take a critical approach to solution design, identifying gaps, providing alternatives, and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and business needs. Create technical solutions to identify security threats, enhance detection capabilities, and drive improvement in response efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience with cybersecurity in a Security Operations, Incident Response, or Security Engineering role
- Experience in automation platforms such as Splunk SOAR and Swimlane, or major CI/CD pipeline tools
- Experience with tool integrations, including REST APIs, designing and writing playbooks, troubleshooting, training, and supporting technical requirements
- Experience building custom security tools or integrations to enhance detection and response capabilities
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, for automation and tool development
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and their security features
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, attack techniques, and defensive strategies
- Knowledge of leveraging AI to improve threat detection and automate response processes
- Ability to work on developing connectors with tools to effectively enable end to end automation of security operations procedures
- HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in log management platforms, including Splunk, Google SecOps, MS Sentinel, or similar technologies
- Experience with cybersecurity tools, including EDR, XDR, network security, incident management platforms, or similar technologies
- Experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing detection rules, use cases, and playbooks to improve detection coverage and accuracy
- Knowledge of network protocols, system administration, and common attack vectors
- Possession of strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
