Job Summary

Keyrus is looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Consultant. We value individuals who are detail-oriented, independent contributors with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, ensuring that together, we continue to transform possibilities into reality.

The role involves reviewing, adapting, and improving procedures to enhance overall processes and align them with business objectives. It includes supporting ISO 27001 audits, creating action plans, and reviewing controls based on ISO 27001 and NIST 2 standards. Additionally, the responsibilities extend to internal training and raising cybersecurity awareness, analyzing, controlling, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities, and leading crisis scenario simulation projects.

It also requires attending meetings across different projects to ensure compliance with security standards, supporting information security improvement processes, completing security measures questionnaires for clients, and conducting internal awareness campaigns, with presentations to the executive committee.

This position is Hybrid in Lisbon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform static and dynamic analysis for applications across various platforms, identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Conduct source code reviews and API vulnerability assessments, recommending appropriate fixes.
  • Manage and configure Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to enhance application security.
  • Apply monitoring and compliance controls on software developments to ensure adherence to security frameworks like ISO 27001 and NIST2.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess, document, and address technical security concerns effectively.
  • Utilize tools and methodologies to audit and secure networks, including analysis of network protocols, data transmission, and application design.
  • Work with Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems and leverage scripting languages like Perl, Python, Bash, and PowerShell to automate tasks and enhance efficiency.
  • Implement security solutions for cloud environments, including Azure and AWS, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation to explain complex security issues in a clear, concise manner.

Requirements for the Role

  • 2+ years in applying monitoring and compliance controls in software development environments.
  • Master’s degree in Information Security (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Hands-on experience with WAFs, IDS, IPS, and cloud fundamentals (Azure and AWS).
  • Strong scripting skills using Perl, Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Deep understanding of network protocols, application security flaws, and architecture.
  • Knowledge of security standards, including ISO 27001 and NIST2.
  • Proficient in static/dynamic analysis and secure API testing.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or possess a valid work permit for Portugal.
