About the Opportunity
Dentons Europe is currently seeking a skilled Information Security Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to develop, implement, and maintain automated solutions that enhance our organization's security posture. This role focuses on automating security processes, improving efficiency, and reducing manual effort in securing our IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing automation solutions for key security functions, including vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance monitoring.
- Developing scripts, workflows, and tools to automate repetitive security tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Building and maintaining integrations between security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IAM).
- Enhancing threat detection capabilities through automated log analysis, threat intelligence integration, and alerting systems.
- Collaborating with security and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and create scalable solutions.
- Maintaining and optimizing the security automation infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Ensuring all automation processes align with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Supporting incident response by automating investigation and containment workflows.
- Developing and maintaining documentation for automation scripts, workflows, and processes.
- Conducting regular reviews of automated systems to ensure effectiveness and address emerging threats.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the broader security and IT teams regarding automation best practices.
- Staying current with advancements in security tools, automation technologies, and threat landscapes
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with security tools and platforms like SIEMs (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel), vulnerability scanners (e.g., Tenable, Qualys), and EDR solutions.
- Knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and integration frameworks to connect disparate systems.
Security Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident response processes.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in a security engineering or automation-focused role.
