By joining our Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) as a Cybersecurity Incident Response Analyst, you will play a vital role in protecting the security and integrity of our products and solutions. You will help identify, respond to, and manage security incidents that impact our products and their ecosystems, ensuring we continue to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative energy solutions to our customers worldwide.
As part of the Incident Response function within PSIRT, you’ll focus on the swift detection and resolution of product-related security incidents, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will gain experience addressing incidents across a wide variety of environments, including embedded systems, cloud platforms, OT/ICS, and software supply chains.

Your Responsibilities:
- Monitor internal and external sources for indicators of product-related security incidents.
- Assist in triaging and assessing reported security incidents to determine severity and scope.
- Support the containment, mitigation, and resolution of product-related security incidents.
- Assist in gathering technical evidence and preparing reports to support response efforts.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, R&D, legal, and communications etc) to ensure timely resolution of incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of incident timelines, actions, and resolutions.
- Assist in post-incident reviews to document lessons learned and drive process improvements.
- Work closely with the Vulnerability Response team to address product vulnerabilities that evolve into incidents.
- Communicate incident status, impact, and mitigation actions to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of PSIRT playbooks, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Stay updated on emerging product security threats, trends, and incident response best practices. Proactively support business units and product teams with threat awareness.
- Assist in ensuring that incident response activities align with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

Your Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent work experience.
- High School Diploma/GED with additional certifications and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that permits them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- At least one (1) year of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, such as Security Operations, Incident Response, or Product Security.
- Familiarity with handling or investigating security incidents, preferably in a product or software-related context
- Basic understanding of security incident response processes (detection, analysis, containment, and resolution).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in investigating incidents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to create professional incident reports and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Willingness to pursue additional training or certifications in product security or incident response.
- Flexibility to be on-call for duties and assist in response to incidents outside regular working hours as needed.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed for meetings and/or physical presence for incident response.
