Principal/Lead Cloud Security Engineer

Within the KONE Technology & Innovation unit, we have a dedicated Cybersecurity team for assuring the security of KONE’s products and solutions as well as applications used by KONE’s business lines.  

We are now looking for an  

experienced Principal/Lead Cloud Security Engineer 

to join our global Cybersecurity team. Our solutions range from embedded elevator controller systems to cloud services and to mobile applications for end users. As Lead Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for driving cloud security and monitoring improvements forward in KONE Technology & Innovation development and operations teams.  

You are a motivated cloud security professional who enjoys working in co-operation with development teams to offer practical solutions to security problems and guidelines on how to develop our solutions and our cloud platforms securely. Ideally, you have a strong technical background in cloud engineering in both AWS and Azure. Additionally, you are also comfortable with modern agile development practices like DevOps. You are a self-driven person who is constantly keeping up to date with the latest trends in cybersecurity and the cloud.

The position is in Espoo or Hyvinkää, Finland based on your own preference.  

The role can be either Lead or Principal Cloud Security Engineer, depending on experience and expertise.

Responsibilities 

• Thorough knowledge of AWS and implementing AWS Well-Architected Security Pillar. Azure experience a definite plus. 

• Identify and develop cloud security controls in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP and Alibaba). 

• Integrate security tools and automate workflows. 

• Work with our Security Operations team to improve our cloud detection capabilities. Support responding to security incidents and alerts. 

• Help development teams to understand cloud security risks, how to mitigate them, to understand detected vulnerabilities, and how to manage and prioritize them. 

• Engineer cloud security solutions for containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). 

Requirements 

• 5+ years of work experience in AWS. Azure experience and cloud / security certifications are desirable. 

• Excellent understanding of the cloud permissions models, such as AWS and Azure IAM. 

• Familiarity with CloudFormation, CDK and other Infrastructure as a Code tools (Terraform, ARM). 

• Ability to individually develop security solutions in the cloud. Proficiency in high-level programming language (e.g., Python). 

• Experience in conducting security reviews throughout product lifecycle. 

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
