WHAT DOES A CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER DO?
Augment a well-established team as a Cyber Security Engineer. This is a collaborative team environment that entails frequent interaction with customers. This is a fast-paced team so a willingness to take on challenges to creatively solve customer requirement problems will be required. RESPONSIBILITIES
The qualified Cyber Security Engineer will be knowledgeable of Common Criteria Language, and FIPS 140 standards. Work on various network types of equipment and related devices from a security protection emphasis to include installing, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing. Must be able to independently build test network or system prototypes, performing equipment set-up, testing, and participating in test report writing. Have the ability to develop attack programs to verify security assurance and weakness capability.
Additionally, the engineer will gather and organize technical information about an organization's missions, goals, and requirements, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the IA arena and performs a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized technology problems. The engineer will integrate electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems, or technology problems as they relate to IA requirements. They will conduct security assessments and security consulting services, analyze information security requirements and perform certification for C&A processes for the accreditations of systems while performing vulnerability analysis and assessment using either government or commercial off-the-shelf technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active TS//SCI clearance at the time of application is required.
- High School Diploma and ten (10) years' experience; or Associates Degree and eight (8) years' experience; or Bachelor's Degree and six (6) years' experience; or Master's Degree and four (4) years' experience

Provide feedback to design engineers and evaluates end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.

Conducts research and evaluates technical performance of software products and overall segments and systems.

Ensures products and systems comply with requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices through formal verification methods.

Verifies/validates systems with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures focused on the threat to information networks.

Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures and prepare assessments and cyber threat profiles of current and planned products based on sophisticated testing, research, and analysis.

Participate in design reviews of hardware and software components to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements

Review test plans/procedures and ensures they verify/validate the requirements.

Develop and maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements

Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials.
Certifications
IAT Level II Certifications including one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, SSCP; and
CSSP Analyst1 one of the following Certifications: CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA+ Security, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, Cloud+, SCYBER
One certification from each category must be achieved in first six months of employment.
