SUMMARY Agile Defense will support U.S. Southern Command’s (USSOUTHCOM) efforts to deter aggression, defeat threats, protect national Security, rapidly respond to crisis situations, and build Area of Responsibility (AOR) Information Technology (IT) capacity. We will deliver direct support in implementing and sustaining mission critical IT networks and robust cyber defense services with compliance to all Cyber Task Orders (CTOs).We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Command and Control (C2) and Cyber Systems Operations Lead to provide leadership across all IT/cyber systems, Continuity of Operations (COOP), and interoperability of C5IM systems on the SCITES 2 Task Order (TO). The C2 and Cyber Systems Operations Lead will be accountable for ensuring seamless and effective operations of C2 and cyber systems throughout the Enterprise IT Environment (EIE). This critical role ensures that USSOUTHCOM maintains a consistent and decisive information advantage, while guaranteeing a fully mission-capable environment across all echelons of command.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Lead the operations, integration, and management of all C2 and cyber systems across the SCITES 2 Task Order (TO), ensuring continuous interoperability and adherence to COOP requirements.·· Accountable for the performance and alignment of all C5IM systems within the EIE, ensuring USSOUTHCOM maintains a decisive information advantage and a fully mission-capable environment.·· Oversee the implementation of C2 and cyber operations strategies that support USSOUTHCOM’s operational goals, missions, and exercises.·· Provide expert guidance and recommendations on the technical evolution of C2 and cyber systems to improve performance, user experience (UX), and operational resilience.·· Identify and address technical debt from both legacy and new technologies, ensuring smooth integration and improvement across the DoDIN (Department of Defense Information Network).·· Develop and execute IT blueprints to remediate legacy technology and technical debt, ensuring that systems are up-to-date, secure, and highly functional.·· Lead efforts to simplify and integrate disparate DoD networks and compute capabilities, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms and systems.·· Serve as the authoritative lead on C2 and cyber systems operations, ensuring all systems are functional, secure, and aligned with USSOUTHCOM’s operational priorities.·· Collaborate closely with internal and external teams, including USSOUTHCOM leadership, IT specialists, and cybersecurity experts, to ensure integrated, secure, and effective operations.·· Provide strategic guidance and reporting on C2 and cyber operations, highlighting any risks or challenges and recommending solutions to ensure mission success.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES· YesQUALIFICATIONS Required Certifications· Clearance: Active Secret Clearance· Certifications: CASP+Education, Background, and Years of Experience· 5 to 7 years of experience in C2, cyber systems operations, or related IT fields, with a focus on military or defense environments.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills· In-depth understanding of the impact of technical debt on legacy technologies, as well as the challenges associated with implementing new technology and processes without utilizing established standards.·· Expertise in developing IT blueprints and strategies to remediate existing technical debt and integrate new technologies to improve performance and operational resilience.·· Demonstrated experience with integrating and simplifying disparate DoD networks, systems, and computing capabilities to streamline operations and ensure interoperability.·· Strong understanding of COOP (Continuity of Operations) processes and how they apply to C2 and cyber systems within military and defense contexts.·· Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute operationally, ensuring technical solutions are both effective and efficient.·· Proven leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills· Experience directly supporting USSOUTHCOM or similar combatant commands is highly desirable.·· Familiarity with current DoD standards and policies related to C2 and cybersecurity operations.·· Experience in implementing and overseeing cybersecurity protocols and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions· Standard office conditions.· Travel to customer sites.Strength Demands· Light – 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
