Position Summary: The Network Security Analyst is responsible for implementing cybersecurity products, processes, and policies to protect Addus' I.T. infrastructure, data, and business. The position will conduct network monitoring and intrusion detection, analyze network traffic for anomalies, and test the information security controls for weaknesses. The Network Security Analyst works with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to communicate the state of information security, inform of possible risks, and suggest ways to improve security. The Network Security Analyst must stay on top of emerging threats and vulnerabilities in IT security. They are expected to conduct research, attend I.T. security conferences, and participate in professional association meetings to gain awareness of the latest information security developments, trends, and best practices.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday night, 12-hour shifts (7pm – 7am Central Time - flexible). Three days during the week (5pm to 10pm). 39 hours weekly.
Location: Fully Remote within the US
Essential Duties:
- Continuous network monitoring to detect any suspicious or hostile activities
- Takes actions to mitigate damage caused by such activities
- Inform management of possible risks and recommend solutions
- Communicate to all stakeholders as appropriate
- Performing risk assessments
- Document security breaches with cause, actions for further prevention, and damage assessment.
- Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
- Assist in creating training for the end users
Position Requirements & Competencies:
- Professional experience developing and implementing new security systems, security programs, protocols and maintenance of existing systems
- Excellent project management and planning skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- In-depth knowledge of data communications and network experience of operating systems and tools
- Knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of information security solutions, including data loss prevention, intrusion detection and prevention, network security monitoring and vulnerability management
- Understanding of current threats and trends in Information Security
- Must have the ability to work overnight shift including weekends
Advanced skills:
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Industry leading knowledge of SIEM and breach detection products
- SOX/HIPAA controls and policies
- Information Security Frameworks (NIST or CIS Controls)
