The anticipated salary range for this role is between $142,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The CIAM Platform Engineer will collaborate with the Customer Identity Access Management Team, SMBC Production Support, the IDaaS provider, and other SMBC technology teams and vendors to understand the infrastructure of the CIAM Platform, lead CIAM DevOps and help troubleshoot, fix, or direct platform issues to the correct party. The role will concentrate on ensuring smooth operation of the platform. Other responsibilities for this role include improving the current CI/CD pipelines (currently using RedHat OpenShift) as well as directing the migration of the CI/CD pipeline to Azure DevOps.

Role Objectives

The CIAM Platform Engineer will:

  • Monitor and address application and infrastructure issues with the CIAM platform using DynaTrace, eG and/or OpenShift
  • Assist the CIAM team in compiling the CIAM platform Runbook and maintain the Runbook
  • Socialize the Runbook with SMBC Production Support Team
  • Identify service degradation or issues and address, troubleshoot, and escalate as appropriate
  • Test new features via Postman and/or other tools
  • Address current pipeline deficiencies (vulnerability scanning, test integration) and direct the migration to Git and Azure DevOps
  • Automate pipelines including alignment of Ping Journey and NodeJS code versions
  • Integrate pipelines with CyberArk for secure management of secrets
  • Work with APIM (Azure Gateway) team to configure certificates with third party solutions
  • Understand the configuration of load balancing, firewalls, and network configuration
  • Suggest system improvements

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps and/or RedHat OpenShift
  • 3+ years shell scripting
  • 2+ years of experience with SIEM tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and API Gateways
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud architecture (Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization (e.g., OpenShift, AKS, etc.) cloud technologies, in particular Azure, and supporting tools (Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence)
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, or Java (preferable)
  • Familiarity with SonarQube, CyberArk and Sonatype
  • Knowledge of PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management preferable
  • Domain knowledge in Financial Service industry or Information Security is desirable
  • BS Degree in STEM (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred)
