Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
Investigations:
- Investigate all criminal acts against AML personnel and property in his AoR.
- Advise his Superintendent and the concession superintendent on the parameters and timetable of an investigation.
- Understand and apply the ArcelorMittal Investigations Toolkit.
- Ensure that all witness statements are recorded in a timely and effective fashion.
- Interviews witnesses, victims, and subjects/suspects in accordance with Liberian law, AML investigations policy and best practice.
- Prepare detailed and clearly written investigations reports which sets forth the findings, supporting evidence, analysis, and evaluation of the evidence, as well as recommendations for next steps.
- Ensure all investigation reports are filed, clearly marked, stored securely, and any digital reports are backed up in the Cloud.
- Ensure that the chain of evidence is maintained that evidence is stored securely and that the evidence rooms are managed professionally.
- Attend court cases and give evidence as requested by his superintendent and AML Legal.
- Carry out any other instructions pertaining to his role as directed by his superintendent.
Liaison:
- Work effectively with the Concession Security Superintendent.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with the ArcelorMittal legal team, Internal Audit and individual managers and AML leaders.
- Liaise with County Police and local government personnel
- Work with the ArcelorMittal Forensic services team as directed by the Security Manager.
- Work effectively with the Risk Advisors.
Intelligence Operations:
- Provide the investigations superintendent and the concession superintendent with timely threat intelligence, to protect AML’s staff, assets, and reputation from wrongdoing, from both within and without the company.
- Ensure that the confidentiality of covert sources is maintained, and that the safety and security of those sources is prioritized.
- Take direction from his superintendent when a risk of a clash of ethics is perceived.
- Maintain an informant base with the outside communities as well as AML personnel.
- Ensure that threat intelligence is collected lawfully and according to AML’s business integrity principles.
- Apply the intelligence cycle – collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination
- Ensure source reports are graded A1 to E5.
- Ensure that all red flags and threat intelligence reports are escalated.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain the high standard of discipline expected from the security department.
- Work safely and in accordance with the 10 Golden rules.
- Ensure that any serial-numbered equipment received is recorded, signed for and maintained in good working order, with any faults or losses reported quickly to his line manager.
- Be prepared to act for his line manager to cover annual/sick leave.
Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:
- Grade 12 with tertiary Security qualification.
- Diploma in Security or equivalent qualification.
- A degree in criminal justice, law, social work, or a related field advantageous.
- Relevant certifications in investigation or law enforcement may be preferred.
- Minimal 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.

Working Conditions
Physical Work Conditions:
