The Broadband Access Standards Team designs, tests, and supports the access equipment and systems that our customers use everyday to transmit data, voice, and video. The team’s mission is to seamlessly connect the customer by designing its network to be fast, reliable, and secure.
As a Broadband Access Standards team member, you will accelerate the pace of product development by implementing and maintaining a centrally-orchestrated, fully-automated lab environment.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the development of a centrally-orchestrated, fully-automated lab environment
- Build, configure, and maintain physically-dedicated testbeds in a lab environment
- Create, execute, and update test scripts that validate product stability, functionality, and performance
- Learn about and understand DSL, G.fast, G.fast, MoCA, PON, and G.hn standards.
- Meet with subject matter experts to identify hardware/software solutions and determine test automation requirements and/or opportunities
- Work closely with third party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve product defects
- Develop and maintain a repository to store test results and any relevant test artifacts
- Develop and maintain a dashboard to communicate test progress and test results to various stakeholders
What you bring
- You excel working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and working through technical challenges in a lab environment
- Background in broadband access networks, specifically twisted pair, coax, and PON networks.
- High level understanding of embedded hardware design, and software for embedded (low memory) Linux environments.
- You are proficient at writing test scripts in various languages. Expert programming skills are not expected.
- You are proficient in wired and wireless packet analysis
- You have basic security knowledge and are capable of performing port scans
Great-to-haves
- You have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- You are a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- You are a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- You are registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, EGBC, or PEO
