Seeking Senior Network Engineer or Network Engineer with at least 7 plus years of experience in managing TCP/IP networks, especially in a Cisco environment, with both strong technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. 

Technical Skills:

1. TCP/IP Networking: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, route summarization, NAT, and network troubleshooting.
2. Cisco Networking: Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, including configuration and management.
3. Network Design and Implementation: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure—experience implementing and troubleshooting SD-WAN networks using Palo Alto appliances is strongly preferred.
4. Network Security: Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems—Palo Alto and Cisco preferred, including building site-to-site VPN connections to 3rd party vendor networks and supporting client VPN. Knowledge of Cisco ISE is a big plus.
5. Routing and Switching: Functional knowledge in routing protocols (especially BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, EtherChannel, trunking, and STP).
6. Wireless Networking: Expertise with wireless networking standards and technologies, including experience supporting RF handheld devices used in warehouse environments.
7. Network Monitoring and Performance: Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization, including knowledge of SNMPv3—Solarwinds preferred.
8. VoIP and QoS: Understanding of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations.
9. Cloud Networking: Knowledge of cloud networking solutions and integration with on-premises networks—Palo Alto Prisma Access and AWS (including configuring Direct Connects, VPCs, and Transit Gateways) is strongly preferred.
10. Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python).

Interpersonal Skills:

1. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
2. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
3. Leadership: Experience in leading and mentoring junior network & security engineers.
4. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing network environments.
5. Time Management: Efficiently manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
    

Certifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – optional, but preferred
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (optional but beneficial)
• Additional responsibilities include:
• Designs, constructs, tests, and implements integrated network, hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and/or physical and logical communications networks for the organization.
• Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to service requests and trouble tickets to include Move, Add, and change requests for the enterprise transport.
• Must be able to write and execute detailed network implementations such as topology and rack elevation diagrams.
• Provides technical consulting on high level network designs, platform sizing, infrastructure system design and the application of new technologies.
• Applies extensive industry and enterprise knowledge to identify and recommend integrated solutions, products and services to support the enterprise's accomplishments of business goals or technical needs.
• Able to work on-call nights and weekends if needed to ensure transport availability or to meet service level agreements (SLAs)
• Provide network administration support for development, deployment, and problem identification and remediation of the enterprise network environment.
• Provide technical assistance to companion work groups in support of overlapping projects and maintain good inter-departmental relations.
• Assess the impact of system changes to the team and to the infrastructure.
• Respond to system network, operations, and maintenance problems while off duty, on an on-call basis.
