As we continue to grow, we are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Data Security Lead to join our team and ensure the security of our operations, data, and facilities.
About the Data Security Lead Role:
The Data Security Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect Vetcor’s data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats. This role requires a professional with extensive experience in data security technologies, policies, and procedures. The Data Security Lead will work closely with IT, legal, and other departments to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
Data Security Lead Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a data security strategy that aligns with Vetcor’s goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage the data security team, including analysts and administrators.
- Provide leadership and direction on all data security-related matters.
Data Protection:
- Implement and manage data encryption, masking, and other protection technologies.
- Ensure proper data classification and handling procedures are in place.
- Monitor and audit data access and usage to ensure compliance with policies.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., PCI, SOX).
Incident Response and Crisis Management:
- Develop and maintain data security incident response plans.
- Lead the response to data security incidents, including investigations, reporting, and remediation.
- Conduct regular drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and other departments to address data security needs and concerns.
- Communicate data security updates, policies, and procedures to all employees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for data security-related matters.
Data Security Lead Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data security.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data security programs.
- Strong knowledge of data security technologies, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
