US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Candidate will work directly with the Enterprise Operations team to understand and develop the US BICES footprint in support of Enterprise Operations. The candidate may work directly with MPE team members to ensure coordination and interoperability of the two environments. The candidate may be required to direct/lead/mentor team members with multiple areas of expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NetApp storage appliances running Clustered Data ONTAP and AVAMAR backup systems.
- Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and monitoring of associated systems and technologies and their environments, as a part of the Enterprise Infrastructure.
- Design, develop, evaluate, and modify storage and data backup environments throughout the technology life cycle.
- Participate in system conceptual design and documentation for enterprise backup and data recovery solution.
- Provide technical support for NetApp products as part of the Operations team. Maintain and provide data storage, data streams and deduplication policies for VMware and guest operating systems. Manage snapshot protection policies.
- Proper understanding of storage utilization and capacity planning and adjusting storage requirements when necessary.
- Administer backup and recovery solutions using Dell Avamar platforms.
- Designing and implementing backup strategies: Ensure data integrity, availability, and recoverability
- Configuring, managing, and monitoring backups: Implement backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies
- Performing recovery testing: Ensure data integrity and availability
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: Assess storage and backup
- Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility associated to production platform and hosted capabilities.
- Provide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as needed.
- Provide input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, course of action (COA) development, and assisting in project technical planning and implementation.
- Develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) and system documentation.
- Collaborate with managers, network engineers, team members, and customers on solutions and issues.
- Download, stage, and deploy systems-related security policies and updates to achieve and maintain information systems compliance with DISA Security policies, procedures, and implementations (STIG, IAVAs, Etc.)
- Provide tier II/III support in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
- Use management tools to discover, monitor, provision, and report on the storage infrastructure. Analyze complex problems and developing solutions for them.
- Monitor Enterprise ticketing system (ServiceNow) and respond accordingly to resolve customer issues.
- Continuous improvement mindset to ensure quality of delivered services.
- May be required to perform duties outside of normal day shift hours.
- May be required to provided collaborative and knowledge share sessions for cross collaborative growth.
- Mentor and coach less experienced system administrators and engineers.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- 10 + years of related network or systems engineering experience
- Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT Level II (Security+) access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire
- A demonstrated strong working knowledge of NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP 9.X and AVAMAR 19.X
- Strong understanding of storage, and backup and recovery procedures.
- Strong understanding of VMware Based virtual production platforms and associated technologies.
- Thorough understanding of infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Active Directory and application/network connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience with maintaining information system compliance with DISA security policies and procedures (STIGs, IAVAs etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NetApp storage systems (ONTAP 9.x).
- Experience with storage protocols as NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI.
- Experience with backup and recovery leveraging EMC Avamar, Data Domain, iDPA.
- Experience with High Availability (HA) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Experience with Dell/EMC VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
- Experience setting up and maintaining SolarWinds monitoring service.
- Experience with Splunk software platform.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Experience with RHEL and certificate services.
- Experience with authoring and maintaining PowerShell scripts.
- NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional (NCTSP).
- NetApp ONTAP Certified Professional (NCDP)
