Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Director of Security Governance coordinates all key department activities such as staffing, financial management, reporting, security awareness, training and communications related to Enterprise Risk and Security. Act as a trusted advisor to the CISO and Security executive leadership team, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making. This leader will play a key role in driving the strategic planning process for security routinely interacting with our border partners and Technology Senior Leadership. Additionally curating and refining key global security messaging and artifacts to senior leadership and boundary partners. his leader facilitates processes and routines to ensure that all critical security projects stay on track and visibility into delivery challenges are identified and reported. Additionally, this leader creates and drives security awareness strategy and delivery for Cox Automotive globally and requires developing and delivering training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices, identifying potential threats, reporting suspicious activity, simulated phishing campaigns and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization. Drive operational efficiency by streamlining security operational processes, monitoring key metrics, and ensuring cross-functional collaboration. Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills will be a critical success factor for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve the security team performance.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices, identifying potential threats, reporting suspicious activity, and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization as well as measuring the effectiveness of security awareness initiatives. Develop and execute phishing simulation campaigns, tracking user behavior, and providing targeted follow-up training based on results.
- Assist in developing executive presentations and messaging for internal audiences (e.g. Quarterly Business Reviews, Governance meetings, business updates, Teams Channel, Monthly Newsletter); facilitate transparent and effective communication on security matters across the organization.
- Drive aggregated security reporting and messaging of core strategic focus areas.
- Lead implementation of employee communication, security awareness and engagement initiatives (e.g. All Hands meetings, Weekly Directs meetings, Leadership offsites, Community engagement, annual security awareness training, etc.).
- Monitor cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution of key objectives
- Manage a team responsible for coordination of security budget, annual planning, communications, and people culture relating to security.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and trust, as this position is privy to very sensitive information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field 10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or related areas, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role. The right candidate could have a different combination, such as a Masters degree and 8 years experience or a PhD 5 years experience.
- Proven experience in executive/leadership communications and business reporting, translating strategies to execution plans
- Excellent writing skills, ability to “storyboard” and develop visually compelling presentations with clear logic and structure
- Highly organized and detailed oriented; proficient in managing competing priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to influence with authority - anticipate and proactively address issues that may arise
- Trusted partner who can manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality; the ability to understand unspoken sensitivities and exercise absolute discretion is a must
- Executive presence and a reputation for building strong relationships with stakeholders and leading teams, both direct reports and in peer/influence models
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, including creative thinking and willingness to work hands-on to deliver impactful outcomes
