Technical Security Specialist

Salary: £53,000 (dependant upon experience)

Do you thrive when supporting and facilitating the delivery of CISO cyber portfolio projects? We are recruiting for a Technical Security Specialist (D Grade) to join the UKCISO Tech Shared Services Team within Aviva.

You will be joining a recently expanded team, reporting into the Tech Shared Services Lead & supporting a specific market within the Aviva Business, whilst also working alongside various other Specialists and Analysts. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining cybersecurity solutions to protect systems, networks and data within allocated area(s) of responsibility. Some of the duties will include:

A bit about the job:

  • Supporting the Tech Shared Services Security Engagement Lead with technical expertise in IT Security
  • Promoting good security practice with our market business partners and third parties, and supporting training and awareness activities
  • Providing input to projects from a cyber security perspective, balancing risk with business enablement
  • Timely and accurate management of identified Information Security findings, ensuring they have the appropriate remediation plans or risk acceptances
  • Creation of materials to articulate risks with clear options and recommendations, for use with the business portfolio

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a solid technical knowledge with broad experience of security management concepts an in-depth knowledge of IS governance processes and practices, including ISMS monitoring and control frameworks such as, ISO, ISF and COBIT, their relationships to other frameworks and their application within a financial services environment or other highly regulated industry.
  • Working understanding of IT Risk Management.
  • Good technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Cloud Technologies (AWS/Azure), IT Operations, Networks, as well as Penetration Testing framework and concepts.
  • Strong customer focus, and the ability to understand and empathise with the user needs and expectations.
  • A high level of analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Salary circa £53,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
