The Reserve Bank of Australia is hiring a Senior Security Analyst for a one year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for supporting teams to enhance the Bank's overall security posture, with a particular focus on aligning with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Top 37 mitigation strategies and the Bank's overall security strategy. Reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security Delivery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the Bank's systems.

Your Team 

You will join a small, tight-knit cybersecurity team with diverse skills, part of a larger multi-disciplinary security services team that spans the full spectrum of cybersecurity roles. The team fosters a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and celebrating personal successes. They are constantly looking to improve and welcome fresh perspectives and ideas.

About the Role

  • Work collaboratively with Infrastructure and IT Security stakeholders to ensure solutions are delivered in line with the Bank’s IT security requirements.

  • Provide expert technical guidance on IT security best practices and adapt solutions as necessary to meet evolving security threats and business objectives.

  • Review and analyse firewall rules to ensure adherence to the Bank's IT security principles.

  • Automate and optimize the reporting of security metrics.

  • Maintain a good understanding of general cybersecurity and information technology topics, principles, and relevant regulations.

About You

  • At least 2 years of experience in a dedicated cybersecurity role, with a focus on risk and compliance.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM), Essential Eight, and/or other related standards.

  • Ability to deliver outcomes by working effectively with stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in automation tools, data visualisation tools, and scripting languages to streamline security processes and reporting.
