As the IT Environment Operations Coordinator, you will be working closely with business stakeholders and Information Technology teams to identify challenges and fulfill needs related to utilization of different IT Environments where our different applications and systems are required to be available (Darwin portals and applications, Claims Adjudication processing, Data Warehouse, and Reporting solutions). You will provide visibility and execution on tasks related to determining environments utilization, environments costs, availability/uptime, data refreshes, technical documentation and inventory, channeling required support during outages and play a key role in defining business needs involving utilization and allocation of IT environments (use cases).  

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Manage requests related to provisioning, decommissioning, and modifications of IT environments and components required by technical and operational teams to exercise different operational duties related to business and client support, SDLC (Software Development Lyfe Cycle), R&D (Research and Development), as well as proof of concept and adoption of new technology.
  • Maintain the inventory of Abarca’s IT environments ecosystem, including the different IT environments active and available, with use case and components within each environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce the governance around the utilization of different IT environments within Abarca’s IT environments ecosystem. This also includes providing the necessary guidance and support related to policies, processes, SOPs, use cases, and discussions around IT environmental needs.
  • Monitor the use and consumption of lower environments, as well as collaborate with efforts related to capacity analysis and planning.
  • Support IT environments operations by promptly managing resolution of issues in lower environments while also identifying opportunities for improvement in terms of reliability, to ensure timely resolution and mitigate future occurrences.
  • Close communication and collaboration with Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, DevOps, IT Ops Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Incidents Management, Change Management, and IT Problem Management among other teams, to continuously improve systems and processes to increase efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize overall IT Environments reliability.
  • Develop, enhance, operate, and maintain asset management systems/tools and interfaces with other tools (e.g., Change, Configuration, and Incident Management Systems), including support to the management of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and reporting of configuration items.
  • Provide visibility through reports, metrics, dashboards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Contribute with the definition of organizational objectives, while designing and implementing KPIs to track them. Monitor and analyze KPIs and metrics reports and create status and performance reports for staff and senior management.
  • Develop messages and presentations, and conduct briefings to address IT environment changes, and highlight key events and environment management updates
  • Participation in initiatives related to improvement and business growth (Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity, Capacity Planning, and implementation of new clients, among others).
  • Participate in initiatives related to improvement and business growth, like Change Management, internal audits related to IT Environments, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Infrastructure provisioning, and IT environments re-vamping.

What we expect of you

The bold requirements…

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technologies or related area (In lieu of a degree, equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered.)
  • 3+ years Proven experience (3+ years) in IT environment management or related fields such as IT operations or DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in managing environments across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, storage, databases, and networks.
  • Experience with capacity planning and environmental scalability.
  • Experience in Configuration Management Database (CMDB) management.
  • Experience with environment monitoring tools such as DataDog, Dynatrace, Solarwind, Azure Portal, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with reporting and dashboard tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for generating metrics and KPIs.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise SOPs, policies, presentations, and briefings tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise in presenting technical updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, quality engineers, DevOps, and IT operations teams.
  • Experience leading discussions around governance, policies, and operational processes related to IT environments.
  • Experience of employing technical background in the design and delivery of technical solutions.
  • Experience with SDLC and agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico Location Only)
  • This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.
  • This position may require availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands (if applicable).

Nice to haves…

  • Experience working in the Health Industry, preferably with a focus on Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM).
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS guidelines.
  • Understanding of PBM operational workflows, including formulary management, claims processing, prior authorizations, and eligibility management.
  • Experience in environment provisioning tools and monitoring tools such as Terraform, ServiceNow, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tools for securing IT environments.
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud solutions and modern architecture patterns like microservices.

Certifications that will give you extra points…

  • ITIL Foundation Certification (v4 or higher)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM)
  • Azure Administrator, or similar cloud certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Physical requirements…

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
