Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and working in partnership with WNZL’s Data and Cybersecurity teams, the Enterprise Privacy Officer plays a critical role in supporting the CCO with leading the WNZL strategy for privacy and personal data protection to ensure WNZL’s effective management of customer personal information and compliance with global regulatory requirements.

This position is responsible for defining and maintaining WNZL’s Privacy Programme and leading its implementation with internal business.

The role includes the day-to-day leadership and management of the WNZL Enterprise Privacy Office, a team of privacy management professionals, regulatory advocacy, policy definition, privacy risk management and WNZL-wide privacy management operations.

The Enterprise Privacy Officer is also responsible for leading WNZL’s Privacy Practice Group, a distributed network of privacy professionals embedded in WNZL business and functional teams.

In this role we are looking for a leader with a strong understanding of local and global privacy management good practice and who is a real team player. You must be an excellent communicator, with demonstrable experience in privacy management.

  • Previous experience in privacy (risk) management within Financial Services.

  • Proven experience influencing a range of internal stakeholders and regulator relations.

  • Proven people leadership skills in a previous role.

  • The ability to develop impactful and sustainable risk management solutions.

  • Demonstrable know-how of NZ and global privacy regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interpret and convey complex information and ideas in a manner that suits the needs of the audience.

  • Excellent analytical, time management and prioritisation, execution and delivery of strategy skills.
