Cyber Security Intern - Summer 2025

Description

The internship will focus on basic Cyber Security principles, specifically the base maintenance and configuration of Endpoint Detection and Response, Application Whitelisting and Elevation, USB Whitelisting, Continuous Vulnerability Monitoring, Security Audits and User Audits. Work on projects to configure security settings like Application Whitelisting, CyberArk Workforce Password Vault and supporting Client-side Security. Under direct supervision, performs daily administration, maintenance, monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service Operation
    • Responds to internal customers to resolve their technology problems.
    • Enters and manages Incident and Service Request tickets in ServiceNow, IT Service Management Application.
    • Assist with base configuration of Group Policy Objects
    • Assist with Security Audits and Internal Vulnerability Assessments
    • Assist with Client Application Whitelisting
  • Request and Change Management
    • Ensures all changes and requests are entered in ServiceNow.
  • Asset Management
    • Uses ServiceNow to maintain and track IT assets and inventories.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Problem Solving – Uses a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem, determining the most likely cause by eliminating potential causes of a problem. 
  • Meeting Participation – Participates in meetings of small to large groups
  • Decision Making – Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; compares alternatives and makes timely decisions.
  • Languages – English
Education and Experience
  • Enrolled in College (required).
  • Pursuing an IT related degree (required)
  • Junior or Senior standing (preferred). 
Computer Skills
  • Entry-Level: Security related topics and processes
  • Basic: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Visio and Project
Learning Outcomes
  • The student will be exposed to all aspects of IT Infrastructure while focusing on learning or expanding knowledge around the following suite of products. 
    • CrowdStrike: Discover, Spotlight, Identity Protection, Endpoint Detection and Response
    • Windows Group Policy
    • BeyondTrust Privilege Management
    • PowerShell Scripting
    • Security Auditsin
