Mission Technologies is looking for a Level 3 Network Administrator who will be responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls. This role involves configuring and maintaining Palo Alto NGFWs, SDWAN, security policies, and routing protocols, as well as monitoring network performance and resolving complex issues. The candidate must be able to work hybrid from one of the HII -MT facilities. 

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

•    Configure and manage physical and virtual Palo Alto firewalls NGFW.
•    Implement, and manage physical and cloud networking solutions to enhance security and performance for LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SDWAN networks to meet business objectives.
•    Establish and maintain security policies in compliance with HII Enterprise IT policies.
•    Manage and optimize firewall policies, rules, and configurations.
•    Provide advanced-level support for escalated network-related incidents to resolve network issues promptly.
•    Proactively monitor network performance and ensure high availability.
•    Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure network security and efficiency.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure network infrastructures that support business and security needs.
•    Apply DISA STIG (Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guide) to maintain compliance with security standards for government and military environments.
•    Support the implementation of Zero Trust architecture and principles to ensure secure access to network resources and mitigate potential risks.
•    Support Zscaler Administrators in their job function to optimize Zscaler security solutions to provide secure internet access and ensure seamless remote user protection.
•    Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening to identify and address potential risks.
•    Support the maintenance of detailed records of network configurations, topologies, and processes to ensure clarity and continuity.
•    Provide support for incident response and troubleshooting of network issues to identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain excellence.
•    Participate in incident response efforts, providing expertise during escalations and on-call duties.
•    Support HII Enterprise projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring compliance with HII Enterprise IT policies.
•    Other duties as assigned.
 

Requirements: I have already done that or have it!

•    5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
•    US Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
•    Experience with Palo Alto firewall administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
•    Strong knowledge of cloud networking principles and security best practices.
•    In-depth understanding of DISA STIG and experience applying it to network and system configurations.
•    Experience with SD-WAN and SD-WSN deployment and management.
•    Good communication skills, with the ability to write comprehensive network and security documentation, policies, and guidelines.    
•    Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
•    Willingness to work nights and weekends as part of a 24/7 on-call support structure to address critical network issues promptly.

Preferred Requirements

•    Experience working in government, defense, or military environments.
•    Familiarity with additional security tools and protocols, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
•    Experience with automation and orchestration tools for network security management.
•    Expertise in configuring and managing Zscaler security solutions.
•    Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar credentials are a plus.
•    Experience with Zero Trust security models and implementation strategies.
•    In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2 switching protocols, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF. Hands-on experience with firewalls, preferably Palo Alto Networks products, is essential.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
