Job Purpose

The Cloud Cybersecurity Architect is part of the MTS Cloud Center of Excellence, reporting to the Cloud Manager/Architect. The role will support key development projects in Azure as it pertains to cybersecurity architecture, security controls to address vulnerabilities, and incident response.
 

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel between Milwaukee and Tucson

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain continuing education on the latest security standards and best practices. 
• Develop security baselines that will drive the identification and implementation of security controls. 
• Identify and implement detective, preventative, and corrective security controls at the appropriate scope. 
• Consult with application teams to identify and remediate security findings. 
• Develop and maintain repeatable processes to review and document cloud service and application security. 
• Mentor application teams and junior personnel to strengthen security awareness and best practices. 

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years relevant cloud security experience. 
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform. 
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python. 
• Experience with cloud-native security tools and services such as Defender, Sentinel, Azure Policy. 
• Experience with code and infrastructure scanning tools such as SonarQube, Rapid7, Wiz.io 
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrated security checks. 
• Experience automating security scanning and enforcements. 

Desired Skills

• Strong knowledge of cloud networking (virtual networks, network segmentation, DNS, firewalls, NSGs, VWAN, ExpressRoute, VPN). 
• Strong knowledge of logging (diagnostic settings, flow logs, traffic analytics). 
• Strong knowledge of monitoring (log and event analysis and response). 
• Cloud certifications such as Azure AZ-500, AZ-305, AZ-104, SC-100, other 
• Security certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, CompTIA Cloud+, other
