About the team

Leading a team of system administrators and engineers responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining System and Cloud Observability & Log Management solutions which ensure that our infrastructure and applications are fully observable, enabling proactive monitoring, real-time analytics, and timely incident response. The Manager will play a critical role in developing strategies and implementing best practices in observability and log management for on- premises and cloud environments.

What you’ll own

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of observability and log management engineers, providing technical guidance, training, coaching, and professional development opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization.

• Define and implement an observability strategy across cloud and on-premises systems, focusing on reliability, scalability, and proactive alerting, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and objectives.

• Develop, implement, and maintain an end-to-end observability and log management framework that supports business needs and ensures compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to Infrastructure observability and log management initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Lead the design and implementation of centralized log management and monitoring solutions to enhance the visibility of system and application performance.

• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to build and manage dashboards, alerts, and logging solutions that provide a holistic view of the system's health.

• Drive the implementation and adoption of best practices for system metrics, distributed tracing, log aggregation, and visualization.

• Stay current with new tools and technologies in the observability and log management space, evaluating their applicability to WorldPay's environment.

• Develop policies and standards for log management, including data retention, access, and privacy compliance.

• Participate in incident response processes, ensuring observability tools provide actionable insights during root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.

• Collaborate with vendors, senior leaders and service providers to evaluate and procure hardware, software, and services for Infrastructure observability and log management solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements.

• Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure log management solutions meet security standards and facilitate the detection and investigation of security incidents.

You’ll own it in our modern Indore/Bangalore/Pune hub. With hubs in the heart of city centers and tech capitals, things move fast in APAC. We pride ourselves on being an agile and dynamic collective, collaborating with different teams and offices across the globe

What you bring

• 12 Plus years of experience working on data center / infrastructure / cloud teams and projects

• Technical experience or familiarity with networking, server, virtualization, database, cloud, and security concepts and terminology

• Experience designing, implementing and/or management of common enterprise monitoring systems (Zabbix, HP, IBM, cloud native solutions such as CloudWatch, etc.)

• Experience with Splunk and SPL (Splunk Processing Language)

• Experience designing / supporting Splunk dashboards / visualizations

• Experience programming or scripting using Bash (Unix/Linux), Python (Unix/Linux) or Powershell (Windows)

• Experience with log management tools like Syslog, Splunk, DataDog, ELK (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Solarwinds Log Analyzer.)

• Experience working with cloud providers and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)

• Leadership and management skills : Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication, is important for overseeing technology initiatives and ensuring successful project delivery.
