Protect networks, systems, and data from cyber threats by analysing alerts, conducting assessments, monitoring breaches, and developing standards.

The Role

Reporting to the IT Risk and Compliance Manager, this role has accountability for the proactive monitoring, reactive support and documentation of security incidents to support the Security Team to reduce and manage security related incidents.

Due to the nature of the role, there is a requirement to be available via phone after ordinary work hours to deal with any emergency situations.

Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and Cream Cheese. VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.

Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Perform proactive monitoring, reactive support, and document security incidents. Serve as an on-call escalation point for security issues.

• Security Assessments and Compliance: Conduct security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analysis. Monitor compliance with security administration processes and access controls.

• Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Generate reports for IT administrators and business managers. Support continuous improvement initiatives and develop security awareness materials.

• Investigation and Analysis: Analyse security breaches, conduct investigations, and present findings. Ensure system changes are implemented to maintain security.

• Vendor and Team Collaboration: Verify third-party vendor security, collaborate with the Service Desk Team, and investigate & resolve IT security issues through the ticketing system.

About you

• Degree in relevant discipline

• Demonstrated experience of 2-4 years in a Security Analyst /SOC Analyst / Security Administrator role

• Experience monitoring, analysing, and addressing technology systems security threats and incidents and implementing protective controls

• Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISM, CISSP, ITIL or equivalent is highly regarded
